Rajiv Gandhi International Airport



GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) is the operator of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India. The airport is located in Shamshabad, about 20 kilometers south of Hyderabad city center. The airport was opened in 2008 and is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. It is one of the busiest airports in India, handling more than 21 million passengers in 2019. The airport has won several awards for its infrastructure, services, and sustainability practices.



Terminal Building:

The airport has a modern terminal building that can handle up to 12 million passengers per year. It has four levels, including a mezzanine floor, and is designed to provide a comfortable and hassle-free experience for travelers.

GMR Innovex is the innovation arm of GMR Group, an Indian infrastructure company that operates airports, highways, and energy projects. GMR Innovex was launched in 2018 with the aim of identifying and nurturing startups that can help solve some of the key challenges in the infrastructure sector. The focus areas of GMR Innovex include smart mobility, sustainable energy, urban infrastructure, and aviation technology. The innovation arm provides startups with funding, mentorship, and access to GMR's resources and networks. Hackathon:

Waisl



WAISL (Water, Air, and Infrastructure Sustainability Lab) is an initiative of GMR Innovex, the innovation arm of GMR Group, a leading Indian infrastructure company. The lab is located at the GMR Innovex campus in Hyderabad and focuses on developing sustainable solutions for the water, air, and infrastructure sectors. The objective of GMR WAISL is to identify and nurture startups, researchers, and innovators who can develop sustainable solutions to address the challenges in the water, air, and infrastructure sectors. The lab provides a platform for collaboration and experimentation, and offers access to GMR's resources, networks, and expertise.



Water Sustainability:

The lab focuses on developing solutions to promote water conservation, reuse, and management. The lab also explores innovative technologies for water treatment and purification.

Air Quality:

MRO



MRO Hyderabad is a leading aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility located at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India. It is a joint venture between GMR Group, an Indian infrastructure company, and Malaysian Aerospace Engineering (MAE), a subsidiary of AirAsia. The MRO facility at Hyderabad airport is spread over an area of 25 acres and is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology to provide a wide range of MRO services for commercial and business aircraft. The facility is capable of handling aircraft from major manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, and Embraer.



Heavy Maintenance:

The facility provides heavy maintenance services for aircraft, including airframe inspections, engine repairs, and overhaul.

Component Maintenance:

The MRO facility has a dedicated component workshop that provides repair and overhaul services for aircraft components such as landing gear, brakes, and wheels.

Painting:

MRO Hyderabad has a state-of-the-art painting facility that provides high-quality aircraft painting services..

Engineering and Design:

The MRO facility has an engineering and design department that provides specialized services such as aircraft modification, interior refurbishment, and avionics installation.

AMAZON HUB



Amazon Facility is a 4,00,000 square feet fulfillment center that was constructed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) for Amazon India in Hyderabad, India. The facility was completed in 2019 and is one of the largest fulfillment centers in the country. The Amazon Hub is strategically located near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, which provides easy access to transportation networks. The fulfillment center uses advanced technology and automation to process orders quickly and efficiently, with a capacity to handle over 10 million products
